Thank you for joining us on the launch of our new website! It’s been years in the making, but AAI is finally embracing technology and has joined the 21st century. You can now electronically shop our collections and join our adventures via social media. In addition to our new digital facelift, our 80,000 sf. store and event space have gone through a few noisy and dusty – yet productive years – of renovation. If you’re in Chicago, we hope you’ll come by, say hi, and see what we’ve done with the place. If you’re not in Chicago, you will enjoy watching our behind-the-scenes video on our History page.

In recent years, our travels and buying have expanded to farther reaches of the globe, from South America, to Europe, Asia, Africa, back to the US, and beyond. In addition to the architectural artifacts that have always been the core of our business, you will find irreplaceable items perfect for residential interiors, as well as fun and functional items that are well-suited to stylish commercial spaces ranging from restaurants and hotels, to retail spaces and offices. Be assured that you’ll only find these world class objects at Architectural Artifacts!

Some of our favorite recent finds include: incredible Italian mid-century light fixtures; Louis Sullivan designed balusters from Carson Pirie Scott, Chicago, 1899; the largest and coolest pine cabinets from a Roman spa in Salsomaggiore Terme, Italy; time-worn leather and wood gymnasium equipment including pommel horse benches, gym mats, a beautiful balance beam, medicine balls, and several styles of parallel bars; fantastic sofas, chairs, chandeliers, and mirrors from a 19th century Bavarian hunting lodge; a cast iron Art Nouveau spiral staircase from Northern Italy; and a collection of rare and sculptural pottery from various West African cultures; just to name a few. Plus, any day we’re expecting a huge shipment of recent purchases from Italy, Germany, and the Czech Republic!
